Namibia has Child labour. It has been reported that Namibia may be a source and destination for trafficked children, although the magnitude of the problem is not well documented.
There is some evidence that children are trafficked within the country for domestic activities, including forced agricultural labor, cattle herding and vending. Cases of child prostitution have also been reported.[69]
Key stakeholders (including government ministries) endorsed the Action Programme towards the Elimination of Child Labour in January 2008, and Namibia has laws against child labor and trafficking. However, the government has never successfully prosecuted a case of child trafficking. The main obstacles to combating it are low public awareness and inadequate training for law enforcement and social service officials.
